Starting our drawing
- First thing first, draw four construction guidelines. One down the center of the page, one horizontal across the middle and two diagonal lines. We will be erasing this line later so don’t make it too dark. This line will help us to make sure our Azurill is symmetrical.
- Next, let’s just start on Azurill’s head. Azurill’s head starts with a simple circle. Just widen the two areas as shown. Don’t worry about any overlapping lines. We will be removing any unnecessary lines later.
- Now we will add in Azurill’s ears. Start by showing two oval shapes on either side which will be slightly elevated from the body shape. The ears are two ovals inside each other.
- Our next step will be to add the eyes and mouth. Use the guidelines to help with placement. Our Azurill is smiling with the mouth open. They eyes are two ovals inside each other.
- Cheeks are next! Use the guidelines to help with placement. The cheeks are perfect circles drawn on either side of the mouth.
- Now we can add Azuril’s feet. Show the feet slightly askew. They are not directly under the body in our picture.
- The next step is to add in the big ball at the end of Azurill’s tail. In our picture Azurill is standing on the ball. The ball is a perfect circle.
- We are almost there! Last piece we need it Azurill’s zigzag tail from the body to the ball at the end. The tail is a series of straight lines. See our drawing for placement. A straightedge will be helpful here.
- Now our Azurill is almost done! We can remove the unnecessary construction lines and the overlapping lines. Our drawing has the lines we are removing as red.
- Now we are done! We can now color away!
