What you will need
A pencil
Paper to draw on
Colored pencils
Starting our drawing
- First thing first, draw four construction guidelines. One down the center of the page, one horizontal across the middle and two diagonal lines. We will be erasing this line later so don’t make it too dark. These lines will help us to make sure our Seedot is symmetrical and will help with placement.
- Next, let’s just start on Seedot’s body. Seedot’s body is a slightly elongated circle. The body is just slightly longer up and down and smaller left to right. Don’t worry about any overlapping lines. We will be removing any unnecessary lines later.
- Now we will add in the stem on the top of Seedot’s head. Use the guidelines for placement.
- The next step is to add in the brim of the “cap”. Draw two slightly arcing lines a little more than half way up the seed body.
- To wrap up the cap, we will add in the two other horizontal lines. Show the lines even spread across the rest of the cap. See our drawing for an example.
- Next is Seedot’s eyes! We can use the guidelines for placement. The outside rings of the eyes will meet where all guidelines come together.
- Now we can add in the bottom tip of the nut body. Remember, Seedot is an acorn shape which comes to a point at the bottom.
- We are almost there! Last pieces we need to add are Seedot’s feet. These are simple shapes. Use the guidelines for placement.
- Now our Seedot is almost done! We can remove the unnecessary construction lines and the overlapping lines. Our drawing has the lines we are removing as red.
- Now we are done! We can now color away!
